The Chill Foundation and Woodward Tahoe to Run Joint Skateboard Program

AREA YOUTH WILL LEARN TO SKATE AND EXPERIENCE WOODWARD’S FACILITY AT NO COST

RENO, NV (Oct. 7, 2020) — Chill is excited to announce a new program partnership with Woodward Tahoe for Fall 2020. Beginning next week, Chill will run skateboard programs for local youth from the Nevada National Guard Child and Youth Program and Hug High School. The youth will learn to skateboard, reflect on valuable life skills, and experience Woodward’s world class facilities. All associated costs are covered, and gear is provided for the participants, including masks and sanitation stations.

“Chill is stoked to expand our partnership with Woodward Tahoe,” said Stephanie Yeatts, Director of Partnerships and Risk Management at The Chill Foundation. “This partnership will provide an epic spot to increase our impact to the communities we serve and will help to further elevate our youth’s experience both on and off the board.”

Chill has partnered with Woodward Tahoe and Woodward Copper for snowboarding programs in past winters and has recently begun a new partnership with Woodward Park City. This fall marks the first Chill skate programs to be held at any Woodward location and is an exciting extension of the ongoing relationship between Woodward and Chill.

Currently in its 25th year, Chill is impacting local communities with programs in 24 cities in 10 countries throughout the world.

Chill is a positive youth development program where boardsports become a vehicle for empowerment. Revolving around a core value-driven curriculum, Chill programs consist of experiential learning activities, reflection, and discussion, paired with boardsport lessons. Chill’s six core values provide youth with a foundation and framework for learning and growth, supported and enhanced through on-board progression and adult mentorship.
