Chrys Vilvang

Chrys lives in his hometown of Vancouver, but has spent most of his adult life in Montréal where he completed a BA in Cultural Studies from McGill University and a PhD in Communication Studies from Concordia University. He also holds an MA in Media Studies from the University of Amsterdam and an MA in Media Production from Toronto Metropolitan University. His passion for media was born through his early days making skateboard and snowboard videos with his friends. His professional background includes stints in the snowboarding, film, and software industries, though he is primarily focused on education these days through his role with Chill and continued work as a university lecturer. Chrys loves snowboarding at Mt. Seymour and though he can occasionally be seen floundering in the waves of El Porto, he is happiest on his skateboard at Quilchena skatepark. His first CD was the Hypnotize single by The Notorious B.I.G.
