About Detroit

Chill Detroit will be back in 2018 for another pop-up skate program!

Through these programs, we teach important life lessons like Respect, Patience, Persistence, Courage, Responsibility, and Pride. Chill works with youth from low-income communities, juvenile justice, mental health, drug treatment, transitional housing, foster care, and after-school programs to overcome challenges they are facing in their everyday lives.

Chill gives our kids opportunities to participate in sports they may not be able to do on their own, and reinforces great life skills like respect and not giving up. It’s also just really fun!

OUR sKATE partner

Modern Skate & Surf

We are proud to work with our amazing friends at Modern Skate & Surf in Royal Oak, MI. Each day, we meet up at the skatepark, discuss our theme of the day, then join a group of coaches for a skate session. Every day we watch our youth progress and challenge themselves on different elements in the park. Be sure to check out Modern Skate for all of your skateboard, inline skate, and scooter needs, as well as clinics and lessons - support your local skateshop!
